For project developers and investors, the initial screening phase of a nature project often relies on a dangerous trade-off: use free, low-resolution proxies that hide risk, or wait weeks for expensive field data that slows down the deal flow.
Today, we are removing that friction.
Following the release of the free 100 m biomass layer, Treeconomy is officially launching the SB10 biomass report: our  first technical report that is requestable online with same-day delivery.

Beyond the 100 m Map: What makes SB10 biomass report different?

While the SB100 biomass layer provides a strategic overview, the SB10 biomass report is built for enhanced screening and technical eligibility. It serves as the data-heavy foundation for project design, providing the site-specific detail needed before a project moves toward final verification.
Here are the top features designed to bring rigour to early-stage assessments:

1. High-Resolution 10 m Granularity

The transition from 100 m to 10 m resolution provides a significant increase in spatial detail. By moving to a 10 m gridded output, the SB10 biomass report offers a more granular visualisation of the project site. This allows you to identify subtle variations in vegetation structure and biomass density that are often blurred or lost in lower-resolutions. This level of granularity is essential for gaining a clear visual understanding of complex and varied landscapes.

2. 9-Year Historical Time Series (2017–2025)

A project is more than a single snapshot. To build a credible project baseline, you must understand trajectory. By providing a yearly historical breakdown back to 2017, the SB10 report allows you to assess site trajectory and past disturbances. Notably, the report provides uncertainty metrics across this entire range, giving you a clear view of confidence in our biomass estimates over time.

3. Full Data Portability: Exportable GeoTIFFs and CSVS

The SB10 biomass report is fully exportable. You can download results as  GeoTIFFs for each year, along with CSVs. This enables you to integrate our 10 m data directly into ArcGIS, QGIS, or your own internal technical workflows.

4. Defensible Uncertainty & Model Performance

Transparency is the antidote to greenwashing. The SB10 biomass report provides a site-specific summary of model accuracy, including Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and correlation metrics. By using split conformal prediction to generate statistically valid 90% confidence intervals, we provide the technical transparency that serious investors and standards demand.

The Value for the Nature Finance Ecosystem

The SB10 biomass report provides a common technical language for both sides of the transaction:
  • For Project Developers: Secure early-stage interest by substantiating your project design with a downloadable, data-backed report. Move from estimated potential to defensible data insights without waiting for manual quotes.
  • For Natural Capital Investors: Run high-speed, technical vetting on any new deal. Standardise your screening process with consistent metrics to disqualify weak assets before spending on expensive field audits.

From Request to Report: How it works

The SB10 biomass report is designed to fit the speed of your deal flow. By automating the data pipeline, we have reduced the turnaround time from weeks to less than 24 hours.
  1. Access the Sherwood Dashboard: Log in to your Sherwood account to get started.
  2. Upload or select your project: Ensure your project site is uploaded to the dashboard. You can then select the specific site where you require an SB10 biomass report.
  3. Request the SB10 biomass report: Use the sidebar to initiate the request and provide your payment details via our secure gateway. Once confirmed, a hold will be placed on your account for the report amount. The system will immediately begin processing the 10 m data for your site, and the final payment is only processed upon delivery.
  4. Same-day delivery: You will receive a notification within 24 hours the moment your comprehensive report and raw data files (GeoTIFFs and CSVs) are ready for download.

A note on technical scope

The SB10 biomass report is a high-resolution tool for enhanced screening, benchmarking, and eligibility vetting. It is not intended for final carbon accounting or the direct sale of credits. Instead, it provides the technical foundation for project design, ensuring a site is robustly vetted before entering the final verification phase via the Project Launchpad and the IB10 Integrated Biomass model.

Getting Started

The SB10 biomass report is available now on the Sherwood platform for £0.05 per hectare (minimum fee of £150 applies)
