Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Cali, Colombia. My hometown is a bustling city filled with a lot of energy and a unique blend of cultures and culinary flavors. Cali has a reputation as the "Salsa capital of the world." I grew up listening to Salsa music and dancing to it with family and friends! Salsa has a way of unifying us "caleños" (the term for people from my city); it creates a strong sense of community like no other.
What do you do at Treeconomy?
I have two missions within Treeconomy. On one hand, I ensure that our messaging is clear, consistent, authentic, and inspiring, guiding others to understand what Treeconomy is and who is behind the meaningful impact we make at our company; it's all about brand awareness. On the other hand, I work very closely with the Product team. Here, my main job is to promote and communicate the value of our products. To achieve this, I seek to understand our customers' main pains and needs and then distill how the features of our products or each touchpoint that our customers have with us translate into benefits for them.
Why do you value working at Treeconomy?
I'm grateful to be part of a company that is truly making a positive impact on the world. Working alongside passionate individuals in a dynamic startup environment is rewarding. I am always learning new things, molding my role to grow and adapt to the needs of the company. Moreover, I love that I am able to bring my unique perspective as a marketer and a designer to the table. I work not only on the marketing side but also on Product, helping shape our products from ideation and wireframing to testing.
What is your favorite tree?
Two trees hold a special place in my heart: the eucalyptus and the wax palm. The scent of eucalyptus takes me back to my childhood when I roamed the countryside forest during vacations. The wax palm tree, the national tree of Colombia, fills me with awe and wonder as I gaze upon them in the Cocora Valley, admiring their grandeur. These trees remind me to appreciate the beauty and magnificence of nature.
What other things do you like to do outside of work?
My passions take me on a journey of discovery. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do, as it allows me to experience new cultures and indulge in local cuisine. There's nothing quite like the taste of a new dish to transport you to a different place and time. I also find joy in cooking and exploring new recipes. And, I love salsa dancing!
