Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Brighton, UK. It's on the south coast of England, about an hour from London with the South Downs National Park just to the north. It's been consistently ranked as one of the happiest places to live in the UK.
What do you do at Treeconomy?
I’m a co-founder and the CEO at Treeconomy. My main focus is leading on the strategy and direction of the company, as well as corporate engagement with high-quality carbon credit buyers and project funders.
Why do you value working at Treeconomy?
I want to work on something that has real-world, tangible impact. I didn’t feel like there was a company that really solved the problems I could see playing out; particularly funding carbon removal and nature restoration. Treeconomy is specifically designed to solve tricky problems and direct finance to have a nature-positive impact at scale. I just love what we do and couldn’t see myself doing anything else.
What is your favorite tree?
Oak trees. They look fantastic, live incredibly long, remove significant amounts of CO2 from the atmosphere, and are habitats for all sorts of species. I also love acorns.
What other things do you like to do outside of work?
I love sports and used to play football, rugby, and touch rugby at a decent level, though now I mainly focus on CrossFit-style exercise and running. I like to be active, or very very passive watching a film or reading a book (preferably historical fiction or non-fiction books about the world - a recent favourite being The World for Sale).
