1. Where are you from?

Lancaster. It’s a lovely small city in the NW of England which sits by the largest inter-tidal mudflat in the UK bringing so many wonderful species to the area.

2. What will you be doing at Treeconomy?

I’m designing the scientific roadmap and (hopefully!) improving on the awesome work that has already been done to accurately assess the carbon stocks in woodlands.

3. What are you excited about working in Treeconomy?

I’m really excited to work on projects that tackle the immediate climate and biodiversity crises, and to share stewardship for nature with colleagues, customers, and the public.

4. What is your favorite tree?

Rowan (mountain ash) because you often find them growing in the most unlikely and inhospitable of places in the UK. You can even make jam from the berries.

5. What other things do you like to do outside of work?

I’m a really keen climber but love pretty much anything outdoors from caving to having a beer in the park on a sunny evening. Now the sun is back I’m getting into playing ultimate frisbee again.
