LONDON, UK — July 1, 2026 — Treeconomy, the earthtech company bringing investment-grade precision to natural capital, today announces a significant commercial contract with a forestry portfolio managed by Gresham House, a specialist alternative asset manager and the UK’s largest institutional forestry asset manager.
Under the new agreement, Gresham House will deploy Treeconomy’s high-resolution aboveground biomass analysis service across part of its forestry portfolio. Delivered via Treeconomy’s Sherwood platform, this deployment complements traditional, static compartment schedules by introducing an adaptive, data-driven "digital twin" of the productive forest holdings.
Commercial Acceleration and Market Traction
This contract marks a definitive milestone in Treeconomy’s commercial scaling, demonstrating enterprise-grade deployment of its technology. The agreement builds upon a proven track record of institutional collaborations. Following early design partnerships and pilots supported by the UK Space Agency (UKSA) with prominent asset managers like Octopus Investments and Rebalance, Treeconomy’s commercial portfolio has rapidly matured. This announcement follows the recent commercial expansion of Treeconomy's partnership with Great Yellow, cementing a clear industry shift towards advanced earth-observation tracking in institutional natural capital sectors.
Multi-Scale Data for Decreasing Portfolio Uncertainty
To build upon established forest inventory methods, Treeconomy’s service introduces an adaptive intelligence loop designed to scale alongside operational workflows. The analysis is powered by Treeconomy’s proprietary IB10 Integrated Biomass Model.
The IB10 model is uniquely integrated: it explicitly blends a land’s historical and ongoing physical, ground-truth field measurements with radar, multispectral, and other advanced satellite data streams. This multi-scale data fusion creates a continuous calibration and validation loop. Rather than delivering a single snapshot, the engine progressively drives down asset uncertainty over time as more field data flows into the system, systematically de-risking long-term land performance forecasts. Concurrently, this intelligence loop directs the field team precisely to remaining low-confidence zones, optimising ongoing manual budgets and eliminating arbitrary grid operations.
The platform integration delivers:
- Stand-Specific 10m Resolution: Delivering highly granular Aboveground Biomass Density mapping using remote sensing and field data fusion, removing a reliance on misleading surface greenness models.
- Predictive Confidence Mapping: Visualising both pixel-level and site-aggregated probability distributions across standing stocks. By replacing unverified estimates with precise confidence data, the service mitigates the misvaluation risks that can expose asset managers to multi-million-pound balance sheet variances.
- Historical Baseline Auditing: Accessing reliable data streams dating back to 2017 to track comprehensive property history and establish verified structural baselines before buying or selling assets.
- Registry-Ready Standard Compliance: Providing scientifically rigorous, methodology-aligned assessments designed to accelerate digital Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) and support third-party credit verification.
Mitigating Asset Risk across the Sector
For the broader asset management industry, this deployment signals an evolving benchmark in natural capital management. As institutional land adapts to increasing regulatory oversight and reporting complexities, integrating rigorous, probabilistic data tracking provides a robust framework for portfolio transparency. Adopting high-resolution aboveground biomass analysis supports assets managers in further refining asset valuations and maintaining alignment with progressive market standards.
Harry Grocott, CEO and Co-Founder at Treeconomy, commented:
"We are proud to announce this formal commercial contract with Gresham House. Having an enterprise portfolio managed by the UK’s largest institutional forestry manager deploy our biomass analysis service is a significant milestone. Our technology is live, commercial, and backed by the sophisticated rigour of our integrated IB10 model. By continuously fusing physical ground-truth plots with advanced remote sensing, we are helping land and asset managers eliminate remote portfolio blind spots, explicitly quantify data variance to eliminate balance sheet risk, and turbocharge existing inventory data to pinpoint clear opportunities for active value enhancement. This is the new operational standard for the natural capital market."
Tom Astor, Associate Director at Gresham House, commented:
“This contract with Treeconomy strengthens our active asset management capabilities by bringing dynamic digital twin technology into our forestry processes. It will help us identify new opportunities to optimise multifunctional woodland management across timber, carbon and biodiversity, supporting long-term value creation for our clients and improving the quality and efficiency of our reporting.”
